Topic: 8 Lessons from the Life and Test of Job

Has thou not made an hedge around him, around his house and around all that he has on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the Land – Job 1:10

There was a man in the land of Uz whose name is Job; and the man was perfect and upright and one that feared God and eschewed evil.

The man was blessed by God with seven sons and three daughters, and was very rich and one day the children of God came to present themselves before God and Satan came also among them.

And the Lord bragged about Job that he is a perfect and upright man and there is no one like him on the earth.

And Satan answered the Lord and said does Job fear God for nothing?

Has you not made an hedge about him, about his house and about all that he has on every side retorted Satan?

Furthermore, he challenged God to touch all that Job has and Job will curse Him.

And the Lord said to Satan, behold all that he has is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand.

So God permitted Satan to try Job’s faith and immediately Satan went from the presence of God and struck Job’s business and children and killed them all.

When Job got the news that he has lost all he has laboured and all his children in a day.

Job said, naked came I out of my mother’s womb and naked shall I return. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord.

Can you imagine that?

Read Job 1:1-22, 2:1-13

There are 8 most important lessons I want us to take home from Job’s story;

  1. There is a hedge of fire round about the life, house, family and business of every child of God. vs 10
  2. The devil does have power but does not have the authority nor access to afflict any child of God unless God permits. vs 12
  3. God can permit the devil to test your trust in Him, however He will always see you through if you stand your ground.
  4. Whoever that needs permission before s/he can act or attack does NOT have the power nor authority. vs 12
  5. If you overcome the trials and temptations the Lord shall restore whatever you have lost as He restored to Job. Joel 2:23-26
  6. The devil also presents himself before God vs 6
  7. Satan does not have any job, but going to and fro and walking up and down in the earth monitoring for a chance to strike the children of God vs vs 7
  8. God brags, applauds and is proud of His children that are perfect and upright and fears Him😂vs 8

Do you fear God and can He vouch and brag for you?

Friends, be sober and vigilant for your adversary the devil is roaring like a lion seeking whom to devour.

May the Lord give us the wisdom and power to overcome all the tricks and attacks from Satan and her agents especially in this trial period in Jesus name Amen.
